baby, oh baby!

I had a fantastic weekend in the windy city doing an over the top wedding. I got to see a bit of the city, and walk along the lake, and it was such a great trip. I left behind scattered kids in 2 different states and my husband had pneumonia. So, that was a little bit stressful for me, but everything went so smoothly and I came home to a family all in one piece (which was a blessing). I am back to nursing my husband, my booked schedule, my busy kids, and all of the computer work that a girl could dream of (wink wink).

This is my friends baby, and oh my gosh do you want to just squeeze her? Thanks for letting me take some pictures of this little princess!

I am getting Marissa’s wedding ready to put on the blog and I had to stop and show you this cute cute girl. I got a bit carried away with this cutie during some down time at a wedding reception. I am enjoying shooting children more and more… hmmm, what does that mean?

I don’t know if it is because I don’t get to do this very often (the last time I shot a baby was probably a year ago), or maybe it is because it was time that I got to spend with Megan, or maybe it is because I got to take pictures of the cutest little baby around, BUT I had so much fun doing this shoot.

A while back, I received a baby announcement from a good friend, and immediately said “those have to be Jessika’s pictures”. I love it when a photographer is so incredibly consistent that you immediately know their work. Jessika Kettle is like that. Anyway, she made these amazing cocoon’s and did just the neatest baby shoot. I am not inspired by that type of thing very often, but that stuck with me. She gave me some instructions on how to do it and so knowing that my good friend Megan was close to having her baby I got out my yarn and made these for her. So, Jessika, here is full credit to YOU for an amazing idea, great inspiration, and beautiful photography! You rock!

With how much fun this was, maybe I will have to do babies here and there… did I just say that?

STOP! I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING, and you are not on the wrong blog. Yes, that is a picture of a baby, but let me explain… She is family, part of the MBK family!

GUESS WHO HAD HER BABY? Megan. Oh my gosh you guys, she is so cute. She is so little and precious and adorable. It was so fun to see little Jayde and to hang out with Megan again. It seems like she has been off way too long and I can not wait to have her back shooting with us again! No body shoots candids as good as Megan!

Wait until you see the rest. OH WE HAD FUN with this little angle!

So, I am adventuring into new territory here… I have NEVER done anything MATERNITY before! As I announced last week I am specializing in Wedding Photography only. However, I will always do pictures of my family!

So, here is the cute pregnant Aimee. I did the wedding pictures for her and Scott a little over a year ago and now, I can not wait to meet their little baby boy! I was able to visit with Aimee a bit this past Sunday in Rexburg, and she is so pregnant cute. She does not look like she is due in 3 weeks. She is getting to that point in the pregnancy that is challenging and uncomfortable for anyone who goes through it.

Good luck Aimee, and I can’t wait to get my hands on little baby SMITH!

Oh my favorite of her. Who has beautiful eyes, and skin like that? Especially when you are pregnant? Not me!

I really think this one is cool too…

This was such a sweet little baby! Being a photographer absolutely has some advantages. One of my favorites is being able to give a baby session to people for gifts. Cliff and my husband work together and it was so much fun to take these pictures as a gift to them. Little Baily and I were not the best of friends. She did not like being naked and did not appreciate most of the things I wanted her to do. However, I think that as she gets older she will change her mind.

DON’T FORGET TO SCROLL DOWN TO SEE TRENT AND SUZANNE’S WEDDING…

A little over a week ago my family went down to Highland to see our new beautiful little niece Halle Brielle Smith. She was sooooo sweet. We had a wonderful trip and were able to visit with my husband’s grandparents while we were there. It was such a lovely day! However, my favorite part was taking some snap shots of the new little bab! I shot most of these wide open with my 1.4 50mm. It was so much fun!
