I did these formals last night and they are in a hurry to see them, so I did a quick edit before I head out of town for the weekend.

I am always willing to share, and flattered that you would ask. So, I have a couple of things I do to get a good sun flare. I try to get the light away from my subject and right in the corner of the frame. You can do that of course by choosing your angle.
I also like to have my aperture high. The higher the aperture the more direct the flare (all of these were taken on 200 ISO with an aperture no less than 8, but some of these are up around 16.
Once you get the lighting the way you like it, you have to angel your camera just right so that you don't get flare lines across faces and other important points in the picture. I don't know if that last part makes sense. If not, just go out and get the light in your lens and slightly move it around and you will see what I mean. The flare moves.
In post production I bump my curves in light room and add an antique tone in TRA to give it more of a sunset feel.
There are a lot of ways to do things, but that is what works for me to get good flare.

Also, thanks for the tips on getting the flare. Although I've tried, it just never turns out how I'd like. I guess practice makes perfect!
